Rinske (1994) is a self-taught artist based in Alkmaar, the Netherlands. Drawing has been a constant in her life for as long as she can remember. During her teenage years, this naturally evolved into a focus on portraiture, primarily working with graphite pencil in black and white.

Although she never stopped drawing, there was a period in which her attention shifted toward finding a more conventional career path. She pursued studies in social work and cultural anthropology, and eventually obtained a degree in graphic design. Throughout these years, creativity and an interest in the human experience remained central to her life, even when her artistic practice was not her main focus.

In her late twenties, she reached a turning point, realizing that drawing and painting are what bring her the greatest sense of fulfillment. This led her to fully embrace her ambition to build a life as a practicing artist.

The central theme in her work is the connection between people and themselves, others, and the natural world. She creates realistic portraits in which she aims to capture the face with precision and sensitivity, as she believes the face can reveal a deeper emotional landscape. While her work is grounded in realism, she introduces a personal layer by experimenting with color and form, allowing intuition and expression to shape the final image.

Through her portraits, she seeks to evoke a sense of recognition and connection, inviting the viewer to slow down and engage with both the subject and their own inner world.
